Farewell Lyra!

1984-2008
May your soul rest in peace.

"treat ur lyf like d sea, ur heart as d shore & friends as d waves.. it doesn't matter hw many waves there r.. what matters is which one touches the shore.... :)

I realized that not everything you have right now is forever yours, they are present in your life to teach you, to help you become a strong person and to hurt you...

I realized that you really have to make a sacrifice to be happy, and that sacrifice really really hurts...

I realized that the number of years you have been together does not prove or show how much you love each other,

Just a piece of advice pipz...

if you love the person so much, show them how much you love them, express your feelings..

because it might be too late..."

Beware on Self Medicating

pain killers

Always consult your physician in taking medicines even if it is an over the counter drugs or not. Remember that drugs that might have work for other people in treating a particular symptoms or disease may or may not work for you.

Last night, one of my batch mate in college was pronounced dead after being in coma for days in the ICU. Due to dysmenorrhea and I mean, the worst case of it, she did self medication to relieve the severe pain she was feeling. Though I'm not sure what particular drugs she used but according to my friend, she took it via direct IV. In fact she's an OR nurse and it just shows that whether you are a health care provider or not, it's still not safe to self medicate. This is just one case of unfortunate incidents brought about by self medication.

As much as possible don't depend on drugs.

It's just sad to know she passed away. Never had the chance to visit her in the hospital thinking of visiting her some other day, but it was too late. I was just shock to hear the sad news from vianne last night. May her soul rest in peace.

Haircuts

I was thinking of getting my hair done by a Korean hairdresser here in our city. Until now, I haven't been able to go there for a haircut. Since I have a long hair, I just have it trimmed at least every 2 months in a nearby salon.

Before, I used to have my hair done in a salon and ask the hairdresser what hairstyle suits for me. Some hairstyles suited me while some not, so now, I'm kinda cautious having a haircut again. Since I have a thin hair, I will never cut my hair short since it will make my face bigger.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

KFC Cruelty

I love KFC's chicken and Cesaers Sandwhich!

But Balidreamhome blogged about KFC's cruelty to their chickens. It is said that these chickens are being grown and abused despite of the advises given by their own animal welfare advisers. Come to think of it, is KFC really doing that? Would I still consider patronizing them knowing how cruel they are with animals? Hmm...

Sad...

Break Up and Learn

In every relationship, there will be arguments and misunderstandings between the partner. Sadly, others resort to break ups.

It might be painful, or should I say, it is indeed painful to feel such. Though as we all know, everything happens for a reason. Most importantly, we should learn from our experiences.

Now, do most couples learn the same things during break ups? Let's check it out with this survey.

Another Boring Day

Bored School Girl

It's been another boring day, actually it has always been boring staying inside the house. I thought before I'm okay being a homebody, but this time, I think I changed a little bit. *Sigh

I hate doing activities routinely, it bores me and staying at home is just the same thing because I do activities here routinely as well.

After blog hopping this morning and dropping some entrecards, I decided to watch some Korean drama. Haven't seen Coffee Prince in GMA so I decided to watch it on dvd. Got to finished 6 episodes this day and still have more episodes waiting to be watch tomorrow.

coffee prince

On the other hand, I don't know if the power and water interruption we had this afternoon was part of Earth's Day celebration. I think the whole of Davao City experienced "Black Out" once again. It was so hot inside the house that I was perspiring so much. Got nothing to do so I ended up sleeping despite of the discomfort I was having.

Anyway, let me greet you all a "Happy Earth Day"! Remember to help save our dearest Mother Earth, okay?!

Kid's Tag

I've been tagged by wena.

Copy here:

1. Answer the Kid’s Question by Gregory Stock, PH.D. Remember: Don’t respond as you think others want you to. Respond the way you actually feel!

2. Add your name (linked to your blog)

3. Tag everybody else!

Kid’s Question #1

If you were the ruler of the world and you could have anything you wanted as well as have people do anything you wanted, do you think you would get greedy and mean or would you be a good and fair ruler?

Please answer the question and put your name and link after.

My Answer:

If I would be given a chance to be the ruler of the world, I think I would be mean. LOL. I have to be in order for my followers to obey me. Though I will not abuse my authority.

Hanging Out

Last night, my boyfriend invited me over to McDonald's at Damosa Gateway. Actually, we planned to eat there the day before since I was craving for a cheeseburger then. His friend Kenny came along with us.

I ordered a plain cheeseburger, a coke and my all time favorite sundae hot fudge. Both of them ordered a one piece chicken with extra rice and a coke float. You know guys have big appetites, right? For the meantime, I didn't mind that I'm on a diet. Tee Hee!

After which, we headed to the supermarket and hang out there while both of them drank some beer. One of the conversations we had was sleep paralysis. I was telling them that one cause of sleep paralysis is an irregular sleeping pattern. And guess what? Both of them had experienced it, since they too have irregular sleeping pattern. It feels like you cannot move your body, cannot speak and has minimal control in breathing. Feels like being strangled or feeling a weight on your chest.

I often experienced sleep paralysis and had even experienced a near death experience due to it. Often it is interpreted as a dream or nightmares just like a ghostly encounter. That's why I am trying my best to adjust my sleeping pattern. I'm still not successful with my attempts, I always end up waking up at 12am and return to sleep at 3 am or 5 am. *Sweat. Very bad for health!

I was once advised by my reviewer that I shouldn't sleep alone in my room.

Anyways, enough of that stuff. Gotta have some rest now. Good night!

A Night To Remember

Been on a date with my long term boyfriend last night. As movie goers, we watched "Meet The Spartans" at NCCC Mall. Found it kinda nonsense but funny at times, just like a "Scary Movie" concept.

After which, we headed to Damosa Gateway, roamed around and headed to Fagioli. We were supposed to have some coffee there but since the place was full, we opted to go to Coffee Dream which is located around Damosa Gateway's compound.

Since I was longing for a carbonara, I ordered their "Pasta Carbonara" at P 125.00 and a "Frosticcino" P 85.00.

When the orders were then served, I was stunned to see a different pasta noodle for carbonara, not the usual fettuccine noodle I got used to. Still, I didn't mind at all. Their carbonara was just okay, but not the type that I'll go craving for.

It wasn't the carbonara nor the coffee I had that made me happy that night, but the moment I had with my boyfriend in that kind of place. He's not used to going to coffee shops and drinking coffee, but at that time, he appreciated the ambiance and was happy being there spending time with me talking and talking...reminiscing those times that we first met and how we became as what we are now.

Let's Get Creepy!

I remembered being with my friends and a priest in a museum. The priest was narrating to us the museum's history while touring us around. We were on the 2nd floor, about to walked down to the ground floor when a man yelled from there. I cannot remember what he actually shouted but the priest came running after him, leaving us behind, telling him to stop making bad jokes inside the museum. The priest seemed alarmed and scared.

My friends and I continued walking around. There were a lot of rooms and statues inside that building. Heading to the exit, we found ourselves locked up in a hall. There were also lovers nearby, the girl was crying furiously, scared being locked up while his boyfriend's comforting her. We forcefully opened the door until it opened.

Getting passed that door, we headed to the center hall, where the chapel in the center and a door to the other side of the building was located. Seems like the exit was towards that side. Two ladies were found inside the chapel praying. They didn't even mind we were there and continued on to their business. Those lovers we just met where now out of sight.

The place became gloomy. The museum we once were now seemed like another old unfamiliar building. Hurriedly, we headed to the other door on the other side of the building in hope for escape when we heard all the windows and doors nearby shut. Once again we were locked up, and this time it was in the center hall. We heard voices praying the "Hail Mary", so my friends and I prayed along while we were holding our hands with one another. Praying and praying, we roamed around the center hall.

Nothing happened we were still locked inside, until I started to recite the Lord's Prayer (Our Father...). My friends did the same. We were all scared at that moment but still maintained our focus. Nearing the chapel, still praying the Lord's Prayer altogether, I felt my throat getting tighter, feels like someone is strangling me.

And because I couldn't breathe any longer, I fainted in front of the chapel's entrance. My friends tried to wake me up to no avail. Scared...some of my friends ran for help and disappeared to nowhere. Only a friend was left beside me.

Minutes passed, I eventually regained my consciousness and was now facing the chapel's entrance. The lady sitting near the entrance looked at me with red eyes. Knowing that our friends didn't return, my friend who was left beside me decided to leave me from where I am and ran for help. I quickly grabbed her hand in fear of leaving me alone. She helped me stand up and we both quickly headed again to the door.

Behind that door, we saw the lovers again, still, the girl is crying while her boyfriend was comforting her. We were locked up again. Panicking, I forcefully opened the window beside me. It opened, the place outside the building already seemed familiar, people were now hanging out in the park. I looked over towards the lovers, but they were out of sight, a flower vase with a red rose was left from where they were.

My friend and I jumped through the window. Looking back, the building were we came from, the museum that we knew of, now became an old abandoned building. Now how did that happen? We both didn't know.

Moving on to reality, I felt my body recovering from stiffness. I woke up realizing it was just all a dream, a very bad dream.

To Switch or Not to Switch...

Lately I've been thinking of getting my own domain.

But...

... there's a big BUT!

I don't know where to start or how to do it. What exactly do I need to consider in buying a domain? Is Blue Host okay? Stumbled upon it while browsing the net and it's kinda cheap for $6.95 for 24 months?! Is that for real?!

Also I just found out that the new version of blogger can now support the use of a custom domain for your blog, that is if you already have your own domain name. Is this a good idea? But where would I get my own domain name then?

Hmm...can someone enlighten me?

Carried Away

Last night, was another sleepless nights. I retired to bed at 12mn but found myself awake the whole night and was able to sleep at around 6 am. Decided to read a book, "Sweet Valley University". I'm sure most of the girls here have read it. It was an old book, found it while browsing through my book shelf. It belongs to my cousin and just left it here, oh well most of her books are in here too.

We all know the love relationship between Elizabeth Wakefield and Todd Wilkins, right? Sadly, in this book, they broke up. Todd wants to take their relationship into another level but Elizabeth wasn't prepared yet. So then they broke up.

Since then, Elizabeth gained some weight and was starting to starve herself to lose weight. Apparently, she still loves Todd and misses him so much. But Todd already has a new gorgeous girlfriend and seems happy being with her. *Sob.

Is this how guys can quickly replace their ex-girlfriends? Seems like they were not hurt from the break up, right? Or was it another form of their coping mechanisms. *Sigh.

Anyway, I just feel for Elizabeth and got carried away with the story and found myself crying while reading it. LOL. And because I finished reading it last night, it left me hanging since I don't have the copy of the book next to that series. *Grrr

Shakira Fever

I was feeling down these past few days. Not even in the mood to blog, all thanks to the scheduled posts I made in advance for keeping me updated with blogging. Even declined a task from blogsvertise, *Sigh. That's how sad I was.

On a lighter note, this sadness seemed to fade quite a bit, all thanks to Shakira's Oral Fixation Concert. Watched it on QTV last night, it was electric! Anyhow, it had me diverted my attention and had me in awe watching her dancing, how I wished I could dance like her. She's really awesome and she's one of my favorites. The audience looked like they were having fun as much I had watching it. LOL.

On the other hand, I'm now having trouble using my mouse. *Sigh

5 Beauty Crimes

My dear friend Vianne tagged me on this one. Sorry for posting this on a later date.

Here goes:

1. I prick on my pimples. I know it's bad for the skin but I really just can't help it. Feels like the pimple would go away after I pricked it. LOL.

2. I rub my eyes. Though the skin around our eyes is quite sensitive and rubbing is not a good thing to do, I frankly admit it that I'm of those guilty people who rubs it. Darn! *Spanking my hands.

3. I sleep really late. Having a good night's sleep is a must and helps in keeping our skin and our system healthy. Sad to say, I'm one of those people who stay up late at night and can sleep the whole day. Unhealthy isn't it?

4. I don't wear sunscreen. Though I'm afraid of the consequences that might happen if I continue not wearing it, but the feeling of greasiness keeps me from not wearing sunscreen when going out.

5. I do not often moisturize my skin. As I've said, I hate the greasy feeling so I rarely put on moisturizer be it on my face or on my entire body. Result is, skin's quite dry. *boo

Now I'm tagging everyone, especially this people:

Certified Nursing Assistant

The act of taking care of patients gives pride and joy in my profession, what more if it is my loved ones. The act of being thanked by the ones you cared for gives a feeling of happiness and satisfaction which relieves the exhaustion you are feeling when working. A nursing assistant is no different.

One must be a certified nursing assistant to work and in doing so, one needs to enroll in one of the CNA schools located in your area to learn the fundamentals of nursing care. It's not merely learning the theories of it but as well as the clinical experiences. And with that, CNA training is also necessary. Found this website that provides CNA courses that would surely help you start your career. Do check it out.

Now I'm passing this tag to

Goh Kiat Chun

I know a lot of you girls are drooling over this Brunei born actor, singer and model, Goh Kiat Chun, or popularly know as Wu Chun. He is part of the famous Taiwanese boy band, Fahrenheit along with Jiro.

He played the lead guy's role in the following drama series, Tokyo Juliet, Hana Kimi and Romantic Princess. These were just some of the series he's in. Haven't seen Tokyo Juliet though. *Boo. I first knew him in Hana Kimi and I agree with a lot of you gals that he's really cute, or should I say handsome. That's why I eventually watched Romantic Princess after I finished watching Hana Kimi. He's the only Taiwan based actor that I knew of who have that great physique. Perhaps that's one of the advantages of owning a gym back in Brunei, huh?! Watch out for his new series "Hot Shot".

It's not only his great looks and physique that his fans go gaga over him. But he's being considerate of his fans is I guess one factor that the fans really admire, and that is to be appreciated for what they are doing by their idol. And because I'm just too kind for all of you Wu Chun's fans out there (Hehe), you might want to check out his blog in case you haven't known this yet. There's an english translation of his entries in there, it just shows how considerate he is for his fans especially with his non-chinese speaking fans.

"However, there are still countries which I don't have time to visit yet… I'm happy that the Philippines and USA have started airing Hanakimi and also Romantic Princess in Guang Zhou n few parts of china soon… Again, I did try my best to convince my company to allow me to do promotional activities in these countries and though my initial attempt failed, I will not give up and hope it will be a reality for all us to meet up one day, yeah!"

I'm a Ninang!

me with my godson

I'm a ninang (godmother) once again and this time to a one year old, Baby Andrew, son of ate (older sister) Maying and kuya (older brother) Ronan. Ate Maying and I are neighbors since childhood. Years ago, I was one of the bridesmaids during their wedding, and now I'm a godmother to their 3rd son! My goodness! Proves that I'm really getting old! *Sweat

Went to Panabo City, a less than hour drive from Davao City (where I reside) together with our neighbors yesterday morning via bus. The special baptism ceremony took place at Sto. Nino Church's chapel while the reception was at the Ultra Bowl. It was special since it was Saturday and there was no mass held for the baptism, just plainly baptismal ceremony. During the ceremony, the priest reminded us, the godparents, to be the second parent of the child. So in any case, something unfortunate might happen with the parents (and I hope God forbids), the godparents will take place the parents' responsibility in rearing the kid. This is therefore the primary obligation of the godparents. Other than that we were also encouraged to help the parents teach our godchildren to pray.

Moving onwards to the reception, the kids had fun playing with the guest clowns. There were games prepared for them and of course there were special treats that served as the prizes for these games that were given to the kids. Aside from the games, there was a little magic show performed by these entertaining clowns. Funny though, that there were 2 kids who were scared seeing a clown were crying inconsolably (poor kids, blame it on horror movies using clowns as monsters). Forgot to tell you that it was Baby Andrew's birthday as well, he just turned 1 year old. Hurray!

mother & son with the clowns

I guess everyone had fun. We went home with foods and balloons in hand. Haha.

A Time to Reminisce

Last night I had dinner with some friends back in high school. It was Kwai's sister's graduation so she invited us over at Buhda's Restaurant along Victoria Plaza compound for dinner. It was a scrumptious dinner and aside from that, we had a lot fun chatting and updating ourselves with the status of our other batch mates. It's been hell years where we haven't seen each other, too bad others didn't made it last night.

Two of my friends, Kwai and Ivan, who were a couple since 4th year high school, went home from abroad. Kwai is currently working in New York while Ivan is in Dubai. These two haven't seen each other for almost 4 years but still manage to hold on to their relationship. They've been together for 8 years. Inspiring huh? Indeed it's true love after all.

Toni, on the other hand, is already a mother while Cyril is attending law school. Shayne and I are both jobless...hahaha. Yassy, Rovy and Megace were not able to attend this small gathering since they were out of town. *Sob

After dinner, we headed to Jickong's along Torres Ave. to chill out. Some friends followed us there. I still had fun with them even though I don't drink beer. Hehe. Just the act of talking and laughing with them is sure a satisfaction. Though I consumed around 3 glasses of bottonless ice tea. Hekhekhek

We left at 3:00 am and my bf is freaking worried already. Darn!
