Kadayawan 2009

The 24th Kadayawan Festival in Davao City was a success! It gets getting better every year. Thanks to all it's organizers, sponsors and of course the local government of Davao. My family and I also had fun roaming around the city. The city streets were filled with people and there were a lot of events and guests around. Major highlights were the Indak Indak and the Flower Float Parade which I only watched on TV to avoid the crowded places. LOL.

Bonding With Cousins

Last March 19, my cousins and I with some nieces and nephews gathered together in my cousin's house to celebrate the feast of their village. It was a nice gathering since we really stayed there until morning, drinking, eating and singing videoke. And since I was in my depressing times from the bad break up, they were consoling me. And part of that was teaching me how to drink beer. Nyahaha. Bad influence, huh? Nah, they think I need to enjoy life more and to not wallow always. And they often ask me why I'm so different from them.

Ash Wednesday...

Today's ash wednesday, signifying the first day of Lent and occurs forty six days before Easter. As a sign of repentance, ashes is placed on the foreheads of the people going to church this time. These ashes were the burned palm crosses during the Palm Sunday and is usually mixed with the Oil of the Catachumens.

Remember, O man, that you are dust, and unto dust you shall return. (Latin: Memento homo, quia pulvis es, et in pulverem reverteris.)

Turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel.

Repent, and hear the good news.

My Friend's Night

Last night, it was one memorable once in a life time event for my friend, May. Marrying the man of his dreams. It was indeed a very joyous moment to see them bind their love under God's grace. We're all very happy for these new couples and we all wish them the best!

The gathering also gave way to reunite with my college friends. And not only that, it was a surprise to see my former Nursery co-trainee, Carol at the celebration. So we made a way to bond together by taking pics of us both.

My birthday's over...

I would like to thank the people who greeted me on my birthday. Yes it was my birthday yesterday and I am now 25! Should I be happy or not? Hehe. It was surprising to check on my friendster account with greeting comments waiting for approval from my friends and for those friends and acquaintances whom I did not expect to greet me. Thanks a lot guys!

Anyways, I woke up this morning gloomy, felt like an ordinary day. Though my parents greeted me and asked me what I want for my birthday. Dinner? Or a house celebration perhaps? But these I declined. Hmm...I wasn't in the mood for a celebration and so I told them I just wanted to unwind. And so I did!

My boyfriend and I went to SM and ate our dinner at Antonio's, then a parfait at Igloo. Before heading home, we dropped by at Cats & Dogs for a videoke. Hayz. I don't want to sing but he kept on insisting, good thing it's just the two of us so it's not that embarrassing. But still, I sang out of tune and almost lost my voice from singing. Haha. Obviously, I just wanted to spend this day with him.

Still from Arven. Isn't he sweet? *ROFL.

Even though it was my birthday, I was still kinda sad knowing that I didn't received the sign I asked of Him. *Sob. On the other hand, I just wished that my birthday wishes will be granted, that will really make me happy.

GS Lying In and OB-Gyne Clinic

Our whole family together with our other relatives all flocked at Suaybaguio's Residence in Tagum City to celebrate the Feast of Christ the King and at the same time, witnessed the opening of my Auntie's Maternity Clinic.

Have stayed in my Auntie's house for 3 months and witnessed the construction of the said clinic. And I was surprised to see the beautiful outcome of it. Congratulations!!!

Resting...

I'll be resting from my entrecard dropping and blog hopping today. As much as I want to, and tried to, I still feel tired and sleepy from last night's celebration.

It was the feast of the "Immaculate Heart of Mary", the patron saint of our subdivision. Guests and relatives from my father's side all came to celebrate with us.

Here were some of the pics taken last night...

I'll be doing my activities of daily blogging tomorrow...

Another Boring Day

Bored School Girl

It's been another boring day, actually it has always been boring staying inside the house. I thought before I'm okay being a homebody, but this time, I think I changed a little bit. *Sigh

I hate doing activities routinely, it bores me and staying at home is just the same thing because I do activities here routinely as well.

After blog hopping this morning and dropping some entrecards, I decided to watch some Korean drama. Haven't seen Coffee Prince in GMA so I decided to watch it on dvd. Got to finished 6 episodes this day and still have more episodes waiting to be watch tomorrow.

On the other hand, I don't know if the power and water interruption we had this afternoon was part of Earth's Day celebration. I think the whole of Davao City experienced "Black Out" once again. It was so hot inside the house that I was perspiring so much. Got nothing to do so I ended up sleeping despite of the discomfort I was having.

Anyway, let me greet you all a "Happy Earth Day"! Remember to help save our dearest Mother Earth, okay?!

I'm a Ninang!

me with my godson

I'm a ninang (godmother) once again and this time to a one year old, Baby Andrew, son of ate (older sister) Maying and kuya (older brother) Ronan. Ate Maying and I are neighbors since childhood. Years ago, I was one of the bridesmaids during their wedding, and now I'm a godmother to their 3rd son! My goodness! Proves that I'm really getting old! *Sweat

Went to Panabo City, a less than hour drive from Davao City (where I reside) together with our neighbors yesterday morning via bus. The special baptism ceremony took place at Sto. Nino Church's chapel while the reception was at the Ultra Bowl. It was special since it was Saturday and there was no mass held for the baptism, just plainly baptismal ceremony. During the ceremony, the priest reminded us, the godparents, to be the second parent of the child. So in any case, something unfortunate might happen with the parents (and I hope God forbids), the godparents will take place the parents' responsibility in rearing the kid. This is therefore the primary obligation of the godparents. Other than that we were also encouraged to help the parents teach our godchildren to pray.

Moving onwards to the reception, the kids had fun playing with the guest clowns. There were games prepared for them and of course there were special treats that served as the prizes for these games that were given to the kids. Aside from the games, there was a little magic show performed by these entertaining clowns. Funny though, that there were 2 kids who were scared seeing a clown were crying inconsolably (poor kids, blame it on horror movies using clowns as monsters). Forgot to tell you that it was Baby Andrew's birthday as well, he just turned 1 year old. Hurray!

I guess everyone had fun. We went home with foods and balloons in hand. Haha.
